We Were Here Tomorrow Norček Walkthrough: Pods, Suits and the Cargo Elevator

What is verified on this page
This page went live on release day, October 20, 2026. The opening is the one segment the public has already played, so its outline comes from named hands-on previews — Shacknews at PAX East and TheSixthAxis on the April demo — plus the studio’s demo posts and the Exophase trophy list. The rest of the walkthrough route is scaffolded from trophies alone.
Step-by-step puzzle solutions are being re-verified against the released game in co-op and will replace the placeholders below as each check completes. Where a method is unknown, this page says so rather than guessing it.
Trophies on this route
These unlock along the opening route in Exophase’s list order. Many Ways is the missable one: it asks for the Cargo Elevator without its fuse.
| Done | Trophy | Grade | How to unlock |
|---|---|---|---|
| The World of Tomorrow | Bronze | Awoke in a new world | |
| Corporate Exercise | Bronze | Pass the Wellness Check | |
| Micromanagement | Silver | Created a brand new access card | |
| ’Morrow’s Miracles | Bronze | Obtained an experimental Norček prototype | |
| All Matters Exotic | Bronze | Arrived at the Exotic Matter Laboratory | |
| Onwards and Upwards | Silver | Activated the Cargo Elevator | |
| Many Ways | Silver | Activated the Cargo Elevator without using a Fuse |
Two tools, two views of every puzzle
Previews agree the tools are picked, not assigned by player number. TheGamesLayer’s hands-on describes choosing between the Goo Gun and the Grabber when the run starts, and the trophy list names the pair the Hook Gun and the Goop Gun — the Grabber is the hook tool. Neither source says the choice is permanent, and GameWatcher’s gamescom session had the two players swap roles mid-section.
So the two sections below are perspectives, not fixed Player 1 / Player 2 lanes: use the table of contents to jump straight to the Hook Gun explorer (Grabber) section or the Goop Gun explorer section for your side of each puzzle.
Hook Gun explorer (Grabber)
- What the hook side can do, from the trophies and the studio’s posts: grapple to energized surfaces (Danger! High Voltage), hook your partner (Now I’m Hooked), and reach and pull things the other explorer cannot. The demo wrap-up post shows a player aiming a hook gun at themselves.
- GameWatcher’s gamescom session describes sandbox tools that place platforms and catch objects; how much of that is available in the opening gets pinned down in the live check.
- Detailed puzzle steps for this segment will be added after a live co-op check — the demo’s lift teamwork, keycard hunt, gravity walls and symbol puzzle each get numbered steps once re-verified in the released game.
Goop Gun explorer
- What the goop side can do: the Goop Gun makes blocks you can stand on, weigh things down with or gunk a partner with. The trophy list has Goop Lookin’ for gooping your partner and You’re Chatty for a Statue for locking them in place, and the creative director describes making a one-metre block anywhere and putting platforms on walls.
- The Norček files call goop a mineral recovered from Rift 0 that can expand, contract and change shape — the in-fiction reason the gun works the way it does (story).
- Detailed puzzle steps for this segment will be added after a live co-op check.
What both explorers need to know
- The demo’s three co-op puzzles, as described in the Shacknews and TheSixthAxis previews: a lift/pad teamwork opener, an exploration stretch with keycards, and gravity walls and ceilings — plus a classic puzzle where one explorer reads out symbols the other has to match. Shacknews called that symbol-description puzzle the highlight.
- GameWatcher’s three questions carry the opening: how does it look, what does it do, and what is the sequence?
- There is a checkpoint after every puzzle, so the Cargo Elevator is a natural stopping point (how long to beat).
Missables on this route
- Many Ways (Silver): activate the Cargo Elevator without using a fuse. Onwards and Upwards is the story version with the fuse. No preview describes the fuseless method, so treat it as untested until the live check — do not assume which tool or route it needs.
- Christmas Riot (Bronze) asks for “a highly sought after toy” your partner must not see. Its location has not been pinned to any segment yet; it will be filed under the segment where it turns up.
